Karuna Centre in the Blue Mountains, the venue

Hi all :-)

Here’s a few words about the Karuna Cenre Katoomba, where we will be holding our last Detox Half Fasting in March 2017. Hopefully this will give you a better picture of where you might be staying for the week!

The Karuna Sanctuary Retreat Centre is 10 minutes from Katoomba in the beautiful Blue Mountains, 90km west of Sydney CBD. At an altitude of just over 1,000 meters, set in 374 acres of native bushland, with dramatic cliff-top views of Megalong Valley, Karuna is a beautiful place for retreat and meditation.

karuna-bmThe Centre has sleeping capacity for 100+ in both bunkroom style as well as an option for the unique experience of sleeping in renovated train carriages. Most of the other buildings are beautiful mud brick. There is a large bright and airy activity hall suitable for yoga, meditation and other indoor activities. A kitchen and large dining space is also set in pristine natural environment.

The accommodation is clean and simple. There are shared rooms as well as a single room with shared bathroom facilities. All other facilities are on site: accommodation, yoga/lecture hall, dining areas. The venue is expected to be cigarette, drug and alcohol free and guests are asked to be quiet between 9:30pm and 6am.

We will endeavour to give everyone their accommodation preference. If coming from interstate, take the Airport line train to Central Station and transfer to the Blue Mountains line to Katoomba station. From the station the Karuna Centre is a short taxi ride away.

Karuna Centre in Katoomba is a hidden spot, perfect for retreats, and we have been grateful to have been able to use the centre on a number of occasions in the past.

Looking forward to having there in March, 2017!

Yours in Health,
Kayu

    Hello Kayu

I am thinking about coming for retreat and would like a single room. Is there one with ensuite – such as we did have at the other retreat where I met you?

Also, would it possible to be met at the station rather than have to take a taxi?

Love and blessings on your work from Helen
